Default AA in capped pot, what\'s your line on scary flop?

FTP .5/1, 3rd hand at table, unknown villain raises UTG, I 3bet AA MP1, folds to villain who caps. Range for villain probably QQ+, maybe AK sound right?

Flop KQ2 rainbow. Villain bets, I raise cuz I have AA, he 3’s, I cap thinking if he donks turn I call down. He donks turn 9 and river K, I call down.

I’m quite sure this was bad, I think it should have gone either:

1)call down from flop bet, he most likely has one of the 2 KK combos, 2 QQ combos, or one AA combo, and I have a one in 5 chance of a split. But there’s enough chance he has AK or JJ to make it worth calling down, and if he does I don’t want to raise him out.

2)Raise flop, call a 3 bet (or cap?), and fold to turn donk, I don’t have the odds to call down from there.

3)Other?

I would stick a raise on the turn and call down from there.

AK, AKs. Many more combos of AK than KK and QQ.
And they would play exactly the same as in op's post.

Unless I suck at life, I count 6 combos of AK and 6 of KK/QQ. If those hands are equally likely, we'd need him to 3-bet the turn with AK some of the time, otherwise, we get two turn bets and a river bet from AK and lose 3 turn bets and a river bet to KK/QQ unless you're thinking of folding to a turn 3-bet. If by some chance KQs is in his range, it gets worse.

I play it how Kit plays it.
