Default Live 2/5 NL--Pocket 10s as an overpair

It's my first hand at the table at the Ventian where they never make you post. I sit down with $200 and the villians have me covered.

I'm in middle position and see pocket tens. I raise to $20, the cutoff and the button call. After the rake, the pot is about $60.

The flop: 2 5 6 (rainbow)

I bet $60, cutoff folds, button raises me another $100. I have $120 behind.

Shove or fold?

I didn't like the situation, but considering how much was in there and the fact that it was my first hand at the table, I felt like I had to shove.

I'd raise more preflop. As played, I'd shove the raise (which is basically putting you all-in anyway).

Yeah, $30 would have been much more appropriate preflop in most live 2-5 games--in this one, $35 would have actually been better. It was my first hand at the table. I hadn't seen a thing yet, so I wasn't aware how aggressively it was going to play. Still, in a live game, $20 'twas clearly an error on my part.

It sucks to admit this, but I have been buying in short a lot at 2-5 lately because I've been running cold. I'll put more on the table once I feel like I have a handle on the feel of the game.

Ohh and Rika,

Thanks for putting the smiley face in your post after calling me retarded. That was thoughtful.

Shove it in. TT is easily worth 40BB. It's really unlikely he has QQ+, so you're mostly worried about JJ and 34. If you get beat, you get beat.
