Moved up to 50nl.. Am i making mistakes?
I used to win these at 25nl... Is this a fundamental error?
What other improvements can i make at 50nl? I know this one hand doesn't tell the whole story, but it's just one example: Absolute Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 5 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $51.97 NYYRico38: $52.65 Button: $26.22 SB: $72.85 BB: $48.65 Pre-flop: (5 players) NYYRico38 is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG calls, NYYRico38 raises to $2.5, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG calls. Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($7.75, 3 players) BB checks, UTG checks, NYYRico38 bets $7, BB raises all-in $46.15, UTG folds, NYYRico38 calls. |

Re: Moved up to 50nl.. Am i making mistakes?
You have a pair of aces,
There is an ace of the board, your opponent is telling you he can beat your pair of aces. |

You have to play the opponent there, there is no reason to even think about that call because of the amount in the pot unless your sure he is on a diamond draw at best or lower ace. Did you have his stats?

Also reads/stats are real important here. If villain is a postflop nit I'm obv not gonna call.

I think on the whole we are behind most of the time to make it a -ev call |

Fiksdal
his range is like sets/2pair here without history Calling this without history of the guy overbetting is setting money on fire(especially when you have the ace of diamonds yourself ) |

Re: Moved up to 50nl.. Am i making mistakes?
I'm obviously not taking sets/AT/A4 out of his range. I'm just saying Ax is also making up a big part of it.
I think this is a +EV call, but not a real clear cut decision. gobby: A nit is a player who needs very strong cards to put money in the pot |

Re: Moved up to 50nl.. Am i making mistakes?
I was intrigued by this post. I originally felt this was a fold hand, and against someone who is basically unknown, I would probably fold.
I think the main thing that gets you to call in this situation is a read. Theres definately a lot of hands he pushes here that haven't beaten AK yet or are unlikely to beat AK (like AX with the exception of AK - AT - A4) |
