Re: Which Computer to buy(Hp/Dell, AMD/Intel)
Ok. The marginal benefit of going from 2gb to 3gb of RAM is less than going from the T7250 to the T7500. You probably don't even need 2gb if you're just going to be playing poker on XP. You will not even come close to using all of that RAM doing daily computing tasks.
If the C2D is in your price range, get it. |

Re: Which Computer to buy(Hp/Dell, AMD/Intel)
INtel seriously kicks AMDs assi in the mobile space. That 7500 would be an awesome processor.

Re: Which Computer to buy(Hp/Dell, AMD/Intel)
Ok,
So now: 7500 or 3gb ram and 7200? It looks like the consensus is 7500 ad 2gb? |

Re: Which Computer to buy(Hp/Dell, AMD/Intel)
Ok I was anxious so I just got this. I looked up a lot and it seems 5400rpm vs 7200rpm is the most negligible thing so I upgraded the other two.
Does this look good? Cost me $1020 Inspiron 1720, Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2GHz, 800Mhz, 4M L2 Cache 3GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm High Resolution, glossy widescreen 17.0 inch display (1920 x 1200) Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 Inspiron 1720 120G 5400RPM SATA hard drive 5400RPM |

For your purposes (heavy database usage) 7200RPM is extremely important. You could have paid the same price and had slightly less storage with 7200RPM. Everything else looks really good though; especially for the price. Best regards, APerfect10 PS. I think the upgrade to 3GB RAM was a good one especially since you will be multi-tasking. Extra RAM can be configured to be used for Postgres which will definitely help. |

Should I wait for a better coupon code or is this one of the best deals that one can find? Thanks for your help guys! [/ QUOTE ] I found a HP Pavilion dv6560us at a deal price of $800.
