If riojj bets, and someone pots it before me, then I will probably fold.]

I think you're playing this hand too passively. I bet the flop. If not I definitely bet the turn.

Problem with checkraising is you have to put in both a call and a raise, effectively only getting 1 to 2 on your money. You've risked too much in a situation where you're usually only going to get called when you're beat. I feel that leading out and getting people to chase with the wrong odds will translate to more profit in the long term here.

I'd do that if there were 3 of us who saw the flop. I always feel at these limits when a lot of people see the flop and you are first to bet, you get 2 or more callers, then you have no idea where you are at on the turn.

You make excellent points; however, here is how I rationalize the check raise in this situation:

1) I'm winning here 80% of the time.
2) People do call with their draws, but with the checkraise, they are calling way way uphill
3) If you just bet out, then you'll have multiple callers, some of which will be offered correct pot odds.
4) If I play TTP and good draws the same way, then I feel that when I actually do have top set, then I'm more likely to get action.

i guess my question is, if you get one caller - which is your objective - what is your line on this draw heavy board if:
A) flush hits
B) board pairs
c)8 or T hits

there are many more potentially bad cards, but what the plan on these?
c)
C) A

I would rather bet the flop and hope riojj raises me. I find that going for check-raises in multi-way pots rarely works out.

In general, I'd like to win the pot now without any resistance or check down and/or play a small pot. I don't mind check-calling as a defensive move or firing out another bet on the turn.

I think specifically it is hard to answer those questions with this hand since there are too many possibilities. Also, a lot depends on who calls.

This hand worked out well since everyone folded to my checkraise.

I'll dig up another hand where there's turn play.

bet the flop fold the turn. standard.

bet the flop to gauge some idea of where you are at... if you encounter resistance on the turn fold (otherwise bet if heads up if checked to you)

where did you get the figure that your ahead 80% of the time with this hand?

even so any resistance and a bad turn finishes you.

OK here's an interesting hand, this is as good a place as any to post it.

$1-$2 on Prima, 6 handed.

One limper, hero limps in CO Qd Qc Jh 4c, button raises pot, 2 callers, hero calls. Button ($167) is aggressive and has a wide range here. SB ($115) is pretty weak. Hero covers both.

Flop ($44) A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Check check check check.

Turn ($44) Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB leads $14, guy folds, hero calls, button calls.

River ($86) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB leads $22, hero calls, button shoves for $115 more. SB folds. Hero...? Hero played this hand well?
