[ QUOTE ]
Octopi, that Deschutes PA is one of the best PA's I've ever had. My boss (from Oregon) ordered a case online and tossed me a few. So so good

[/ QUOTE ]

I know! I had one on a recent trip to Seattle and had to pick up a few to bring home. [censored] no liquids on planes rules might screw me out of my next pick up though. Underground beer train to Canada, anyone?

goofyballer; No, western Canada actually. There is a beer store near my house that stocks 400+ beers, and most of the American imports are from the western US, probably just by virtue of shipping routes. Or, I'm just drawn to them, I guess.

I also drank more than a few beers on a trip to Montreal last year. Superpowered French and Belgian beers are where it's at.

Also, if anyone lives near a World Market, I'd suggest picking up their "create your own 6 pack" cartons. Most bottles are about $1.29-1.99 each and you can get a great variety of single bottles and one offs instead of grabbing a six pack and hating it.

I had originally planned on going to a liquor store on the last border run, but ran out of time and had to settle for the World Market. I also had worried the beer would be [censored] and expired or otherwise gross, but it's been excellent.

I grabbed a few things:

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
St Peter's Cream Stout
Fuller's 1845
Ropewalk Amber Ale
Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA (originally wanted the 180, but it's been hard to find)
Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Ale (it's finally snowed here and seems to be staying, so this might be tonight's "by the fire" beer)
Also, The Rogue Special Santa's Ale

It was like 13 beers for under $40 I think.

9 is a common choice, but I am partial to Jinx. I went to the brewery and got a premuim stout that they only make available there. Yum!

Their Copper Ale is what I prefer.

Good cheap beers are obviously Jupiler, Hertog Jan and Palm. Maybe Duvel.
