Default 50NL: TPTK+NFD on flop

Villain is 25/14. My notes on him: weird bad passive play postflop, checks behind turned nut flush in small pot.

Three bet pre up to 9 at min.

After the flop are you really wanting this guy to fold.

Im not saying a r is wrong but no worse hands r calling you here.

I might even go with a call here on the flop and r the turn.

Overall you needed to get money in preflop with this hand and say he maybe shoves over the three bet that I feel should have been made call.

Generically, I think your dream scenario on a flop like that is to make a non-scary raise he might call so he can pay to draw nearly dead versus your nutflush; plus, alternatively, some diamonds might give make him attractive second-best hands like str8s and sets.

His pf behavior makes it look like he has a TT/AJs sort of hand (or, if he's really new to poker, AA-KK, though your hand + flop dramatically reduce the likelihood.) His flop donk is probably informational/blocky, so don't rush to blast him off the hand yet. I might even smooth-call here and fire a small v-bet on turn if checked to.

This hand is quite different. As I said, villain is a bad passive player. He is unlikely to bluff or lead strongly at the pot at any point. And he min3bet pf, which weights his range more towards big aces/broadway/big pairs than any kind of sc/drawing hand.

My thinking here is that a flop raise is mandatory against a passive player. The only parts of his range I am really worried about are AA/KK/AK. Anything else, he mostly folds to a raise. Maybe calls a small raise w/ KQ/KJ/QQ/JJ but he's not putting too much more money in the pot with those hands.

How did he manage to raise less than the minimum pre?

AK with TPTK and the NFD is a way stronger hand than A9 TPNK with the NFD. This is a totally different spot.

Raise flop is cool since he bet so little, but $20 seems like way too much. We want him calling, not folding here.

3betting preflop is good here. Raising up to about 3 or 4 times his flop bet is good. Shoving this flop is bad because no one is calling often enough for your monster to get paid. Calling this flop is ok if you're really afraid that you're going to lose him. He donks into you on this flop so you might be getting some good action. But your enormous raise is going to blast him off his hand unless he has a set or AA.
