I went through that phase. It sucks; don't do it.

Sailboats, you moved up too fast. You went from 4/8 to 9/18 to 20/40 to 40/80 in the space of a year. You're good enough, but you don't have the bankroll to sustain the downswing you're suffering now. One can only run hot for so long. Be like me; be a nit. Grind it out for a couple years at 15 and 20, build up such a cushion that you'll never worry about the downswings, then hit up the 40. Your sanity will thank you for it.

Pretty decent advice. Everyone wants to get rich quick but getting rich slow is usually the better choice to ensure getting rich.

Here is an example of how tired/not paying attention I was this morning. The 20/40 must move had broken, so I went to play 8/16 instead of making the main game 10 handed, because once it gets 10 handed, it stays that way until the board is empty, or a 2nd game starts again, and it was about 7am, and a tourney started at 10, and I didn't want people to start coming in making it 10 handed forever.

Well, that is an aside. So I was playing 8/16, a blue chip($2) game. When I left 20/40, I had 805 infront of me, so I get 300 in blue, get a purple chip ($500) and a red chip ($5) and put both in my pocket. So I leave the 8/16 game with 276, but I like dealing in even stacks in racks, so I put in a red chip to make it 281, which basically fills up that rack for all purposes. So I give the cashier the purple chip, 276 in blue, and 5 in red, and ask for red chips. He has this confused look on his face, because I slid the rack+ of blue chips to him, then pulled the red chip out of my pocket and asked for red chips. He figures is out before me that if I am giving him a red chip, he doesn't need to get a different red chip for it, and takes it out of the rack and gives it to me.

Sorry that probably sucked as a story, but thats how interesting my life is...

Yea you guys are right, but poker gets quite frustrating. I think im going to take a couple of weeks off. I wish i took a break earlier before the month of October and the downswing.

Happy Birthday PJ!

Something I've never seen before:

Sort of spazzy player limps UTG and then throws his cards into the muck! Bunch of limpers after him going wtf? So someone grabs 4 chips out of the pot and tries to give them back to 'spazzy' but dealer won't let him. I win the pot and try to give him back his $20 but dealer won't let me. I want to give him back his money next time I see him firstly because he's a donator and secondly I think he had one hell of a brain-fart. Right move?

You guys are wrong. The guys who got rich from poker did so because they weren't pussies. If you try to get rich slowly, by the time you get good enough the games aren't there anymore.
