That would be really sweet if Kenosha got a casino considering I live 10 min. from the dog track.

" It’s all an unnecessary fight because multiple economic studies, including one conducted expressly for the Potawatomi, confirm two competing Southeast Wisconsin casinos can both be very successful. But Potawatomi’s leaders would apparently rather ignore the facts in order to maintain a monopoly.”

way to go Potty!

Anyone know what the chances of the Kenosha casino getting going are? I only breezed through that article, but I couldn't find anywhere saying that it wasn't going to happen.

I just hope that it opens up eventually and that they will have a poker room with 1/2NL. As it is, I can only go down to the Pot to play every now and then since their NL game is over my bankroll.

But aren't you worried about all the extra traffic on 94? Illinois' genius senior Senator is.

Winthrop Harbor here. Would love for a casino to pop up right here. I might actually bother to play live poker less than once every 4-5 months.

I would like to see a kenosha casino as well. I can't see how competition would be a bad thing. The fight is getting pretty nasty on all sides and I think that might even include the web site you sent us to. I don't know who owns the web site but they seem to have an agenda themselves...or at least the author of the sited article does. For example the following paragraph in the article is a blatant editorial :

[ QUOTE ]
Casino Competition for Wisconsin is a public education effort on behalf of the Menominee Tribe to expose the Forest County Potawatomi’s multimillion-dollar crusade to preserve its monopoly and stifle competition from the proposed Kenosha casino and entertainment center.

[/ QUOTE ]

Note that these were the authors words, not a quote. I looked around to see who was in charge of wispolitics.com but couldn't find anything. My guess is that they may be a front group themselves. One of the saddest things about these casino wars is that all the information seems to come from people who stand to gain or lose money. I haven't seen much good reporting about it all.
