No limit/unlimited raises when HU in LHE.
Playing last night and this situation came up (3/6 LHE). It was HU on the turn and the dealer announces unlimited raises. The guy first to act asks for some clarification. He states that he typically plays in Kansas City and there when its HU on a street than its No-limit for the initial bet, but anyone who calls can say they only want to call the $6 or all of the bet or anything in between.
1. Can someone from KC confirm this is the way its done there, as I am unfamiliar with this structure. 2. What strategic impacts does this have if any? |

Re: No limit/unlimited raises when HU in LHE.
I've not played in KC and would guess that your opponent misunderstood the rule.
Typically the betting structure doesn't change. There isn't a cap on the amount of bets and raises which can go in when a pot is HU but you're still betting in fixed increments. In other words, you can raise ten times, for a total of $60 as long as your opponent was raising along with you, but you couldn't decide to make a single $60 dollar bet or push all in. |

That's a messed up rule. I would imagine it is in place for KQJT2r boards or whatever?

End result is the same isn't it?
(Assuming caller has to call at least 1 bet) And presumably the original raiser has the option to raise 'normally' in order to squeeze out an extra bet. |
