Don't have the HH in front of me.

Effective stacks are very close to 1500. Button is braminc, a regular 36 player (from what I've seen). I pretty much only play this game when I'm watching TV, so I'm far from a regular, but he knows me from 2p2.

At 25/50, I open to 150 with black AK. He calls from button, blinds fold.

Flop is KT9 with 2 hearts. I check, he bets 200, I call. Turn is offsuit Q. I check, he bets like 600, I fold. He was very surprised that I played AK this way. I thought it was relatively standard against a decent player.

I'd usually just bet flop and completely shut down against any action. I'm fine with ending the hand immediately due to lots of annoying hands. I don't really care about getting action from worse hands, bluffing, or all that other garbage on a flop like this.

Also I'd never ever let them know I had AK.

I never show hands in any game where I'm even a slightly regular participant. We had chatted some and I didn't mind saying that, especially since a) It got him to show me his and b) it may provide for some discussion.

Durron I would rather c/f than c/r fold to a shove.
That being said I probably just bet fold.

theres a trend on 2p2 to just make everything so much harder than it has to be. i appreciate creativity but sometimes i think people over think hands. think about how successful straightforward people like curtains are... alot of the time thats optimal in sngs.

alot of the time this hand goes you bet flop, check turn, bet river (or bet turn check riv, bet bet... whatever) and win against kq, or JJ or JT or something...

he raises with an inferior hand so rarely that just bet folding is fine... you may end the hand right there but often thats cause youre beat... so thats good. most of the time hell fold or call with worse... good... protect and value bet...just because we hate it when he raises doesnt mean we arent glad he told us to fold putting few chips in and it doesnt mean it happens often enough that we have to get scared into getting this passive. and if it does... good... shove.

Yeah I'm strongly in favor of betting as opposed to check calling or check raising. You want them to fold immediately here and you want to invest as little as possible to make this happen.

Not that it's entirely relevant to this hand, but I don't mind under-representing my hand postflop from time to time given how infrequently I c-bet. I don't want my opponents to think that everytime I check a flop I'm c/f'ing. But yeah, as I mentioned above, that's not all that important here since I rarely play with these players.

bigt, i'm worried about what happens if we bet and he calls and the turn is a QJT9 or heart (i.e. half the deck)

Against a decent regular
A heart, A nine and a a ten are blanks. Depending on what flop cards have hearts.
