Re: Horrible turn card
I like the turn check because you don't want to get check-raised but now villain knows you don't have an A. Call the river as you're ahead of villain a good % of the time.
Cheers. |

Guess I am the only one who likes a turn bet here. Maybe I'm coming down with something? [/ QUOTE ] Are you folding to a c/r or calling down? |

Re: Horrible turn card
CD. I guess I am just use to playing my trip hands really fast. I know that turn card does suck but I play this fast till I meet resistance. I'll have to think about this more cause everyone seems to be in favor of the turn check.

Re: Horrible turn card
Everyone explain the turn check. Not saying it is wrong or right just want some further chat on it cause you all pretty much agree that the T/C was the way to go here. We just playing defense now?

Re: Horrible turn card
I like the turn check because:
1. It is hard to see many hands you beat calling you if you bet. 2. If you bet, a player who "is not afraid to bluff" can check-raise you. Since he is not afraid to bluff, you have to call him down, which I think is bad. 3. If you check the turn, you could induce a bluff on the river. Basically, I think checking the turn lets you lose the minimum when behind and win the maximum when ahead. |

Re: Horrible turn card
all the comments on turn check to induce river bluff are standard and make perfect sense; I would normally take this line against default villan.
but OP said villain is loose/aggro, likes to bluff and plays 80% of hands. why not bet the turn precisely to induce that bluff C/R and expected river bet? |
