New Super Mario Galaxy Trailer

I'm sure some of you have probably seen this, but a near two minute Super Mario Galaxy trailer debuted at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco yesterday during Shigeru Miyamoto's talk:

At this risk of sounding like a Nintendo/Mario fanboi, the game looks pretty beautiful.

Yea this looks insane i cannot wait to play this. I never played Super Mario Sunshine, should i go back and play that now that i have a Wii?

It really does look amazing. It also looks incredibly confusing to me, but I'm sure that it will all make sense once I get my hands on it. Still, at this point I'm probably more excited about Super Paper Mario, but that could very well be because it comes out in one month.

My 3-year-old son loves to watch Mario games so we played through Mario 64 together when that came out for the VC, and now I've dusted off Super Mario Sunshine. It really is a cool game, that maybe got overlooked by a lot of people. It's not really that much different than Mario 64, but there's enough added stuff and polished graphics that it's definitely worth playing, IMO. I also think it's more of a challenge to collect all the stars in it, if you're into that sort of thing.

And yeah, I'm extremely psyched to play Galaxy later this year -- the trailers look great.

I agree...SMS kinda got a bum rap by some people. It's not as good overall as Super Mario 64, but if you enjoyed SM64 you will enjoy Sunshine. Just because it isn't the best Mario game ever doesn't mean it's not better than almost every other platformer type out there.

Galaxy looks amazing...I think it's just the type of game to compete with the heavy hitters from Sony/Microsoft if it releases this fall.

Just wow. Reminds me of what I thought about Mario64 when it first came out. I finally have a reason to get a Wii.
