Stars changes double shootouts to weekly 1M tourney
They changed the setup from 10+1 doubleshoot out with eight tables and 64 players to 10.7 + 1 doubleshoot with 10 tables and 100 players... While I realize they did this because they wanted to qualify more people but for those who finish earlier they are going to have a god aweful wait... This is a really bad change in my opinion....

I don't think it will at that much time per event for the first table. The final table will be faster.

Re: Stars changes double shootouts to weekly 1M tourney
At first I didn't understand why this would make the final-table faster. But I see that it now awards 4 entries so that must be why.
I've played a couple of the shootouts before. $27 and $11 or whatever. I didn't think my table finished especially fast, but inevitably there is always one table that is taking freaking FOREVER. i'm talking 1:40 or so to play an 8-handed SNG. Looks heads-up 40 mins or more are heads-up because neither players has much clue about heads-up play. So the others who are waiting all go to the one remaining table to make fun of how bad these guys are heads-up. i haven't played many of the double-shootouts, but this seems to happen pretty frequently. As for 100 players vs. 64 players, I'm not really bothered by it. I think I like it a little better actually. |
