Default $100r vs imperium-- am i terrible?

Although some of you may want to say yes without reading the hand, please at least look at it first.

Okay so I recently got moved to this table. I had been active right away. I had already 3 bet imp once but then folded to bigballz's 4bet. I also raise/folded to bigballz's 3bet once.

I'm not really sure what this shove is considered. It's not really for value or a bluff because he isn't calling too much that I have beat, and I don't think he is folding any better pairs. But I am ahead of AQ/AK, and he could be doing this as a bluff and intending to fold to my shove. Or is it just pure spew?

Didn't read the hand, but you shouldn't be folding to bigballz'z raises.

That's interesting because at the time I really felt that he was just making moves on me, but I really had no idea how he played so I couldn't justify 5 bet bluffing that one hand where he 4 bet me.

I know that hyperagressive players play this way, but why 3bet w/88?

This topic is discussed everyday, so this thread should get 50 replies. You turn your hand into a bluff even though 88 has showdown value. With a 3bet, you're rarely reaching showdown unless you do what you did w/the 5bet.

i wouldn't say i'm turning my hand into a bluff necessarily since people never think i have anything. when i 3 bet i pretty much was planning on getting it in preflop if possible, but i'm not sure if that is good or not in this situation.

I think you are too deep to want to get it in with 88 here. If the money goes in pre-flop I think you are usually in bad shape.

I probably flat preflop even though I'm OOP. Would much rather 3-bet/shove from the button as he'll think your range is a lot wider from the button than the SB.

Ugh, you probably got pretty owned here.
