AQ with a 3TT3 board - opponent overbets - thoughts?
middle stages of a $10 tourney - no read on my opponennt, trying to figure out how to play this hand when I've got position, an A, and I see an overbet like 9K into a 3K pot.

If I fold, I have 8K, about 20BB and am firmly in the middle of the pack - do I abandon a 3K pot here? rb

What's with the 6xBB raise?
It's possible he's stealing with A high here, but in that case you have a split pot at best. I'm folding here. Had you bet less, you wouldn't care too much about the pot... Haven't played a $10 in a good while, but I'd hazard to say you're going to see a PP of some sort a decent amount of the time as well...

reread - it's only a 3BB raise, and considering the antes as well, I felt was too small in retrospect

So it is, re: 3BB. This is the line that threw me: "Opponent posts the small blind of 200."
Anyways, I'd still fold here. You're only beating total air, splitting most of the time and way behind a significant enough amount of the time that calling is -EV. 3x is standard on FTP btw, plenty enough for FE.
