2003 i bet my roommate the marlins wouldn't win the world series; made the bet in august when they were still an outside shot to make the wild card.
edit: don't remember the exact odds/amount, but i remember thinking my odds were better than they should have been b/c he was a huge fanboy. too bad they [censored] won
