My preference is to say NL $x (or NL £100, or whatever currency). However, that's all it is, a preference. Many people (particularly in the SSNL forum and above), the SSNL FAQ, and some programs follow this convention. Other people (particularly in the Micro NL forum) and some programs follow the opposite convention. Either way, it is understandable.

Confusion can occur when people specify two numbers, without saying whether it is the bet sizes in limit or the blinds in NL, or when people say one number and sometimes mean the big blind in NL.

It is a preference thing.

As long as "$X" and "NL" are both included, it doesn't matter what order they go in. obv.

I'm the opposite of pzhon, as i've always seen it typed XXNL.

in some fonts, like the one pstars uses, 10nl is much clearer than nl10. NL10 isn't as bad, but I'm too lazy to hit the shift key that often.
