ofcourse value bet river, why would the J be a scare card if you've fired 2 barrels already?

for a 1/2 pot bet, villain will call down with 9x, RR with J9/5x,fh's
for a 3/4 to pot bet, villain will call with J9/5x,RR with fh's

well if the guy is decent the overcard on the river like i said could fold out a lot of smaller 1 pair hands esp given how ugly the board is and how aggro ive been...thats how i think it could be a scare card.

It guess it depends on your estimation of how donkish he is. I can't see a decent player calling with anything that you beat, but at these stakes, who knows?

I'd probably check behind. I think this is a flush a lot of the time. I would expect a normal opponent to bet the river with a hand most of the time, but this guy just seems SO passive.

With how deep you are I like a bet, $30 looks good. If stacks were shorter and a vb commited you I'd probably puss out and check behind.

Is there any $value to checking behind to guarantee a showdown? If he c/raises big here, I'm folding pretty fast to an unknown with these stats, and I don't learn so much about how he plays. Valuebet could only return a fraction of what we risk, so maybe giving up a few bucks is worth it?
