Default Peed on my laptop

Last night I got pretty wasted-it was a friend's birthday. I had my laptop on the nightstand by my bed to watch a movie as I fell asleep. This morning I get a call, and notice my cell phone is wet, which was right next to the computer. Also, I notice my computer is off. I realize that during my sleep I used my laptop as a toilet. It's really wet, I can actually feel that it's heavier than normal. So, I unplugged the power cord and battery and now am letting it dry. Any suggestions? I read somewhere to perhaps take it apart, but I don't want to unless it's truly necessary. Im guessing its gone though. I will miss him.

Even if he is a troll, he's user #90,000. That's pretty cool.

Troll, you probably want to treat this like any water spill, as described in the FAQ. If you find your laptop smelling bad after it dries, you're welcome to try wiping-off the top w/ a wet rag (and then drying again) or if that's not enough, opening up and washing farther in. Each time you get the insides wet, follow the FAQ's instructions.

Thanks SamIAm. I can assure you I'm not a troll. I really did pee on my laptop and it sucks.

Unfortunately if you are a troll the increased levels of diacetylated benzidine in your urine would have melted all the keys on the keyboard. You would have the equivalent of one big enter key.

Agree with Sam's advice and make sure it is dry before trying to switch back on again.

Ok, so if you aren't a troll (which it appears you aren't) that is one heck of a story!hehe

You've gotten about the best advice you can get. I don't know what else you can do besides taking it apart and wiping it down. In all seriousness I don't think you'll ever be able to get all the stale urine smell out of it. Any liquid that enters a laptop will filter down through the keyboard and drain to the motherboard and all the components. If you've ever seen the guts of a laptop you'll understand what I mean.

Oh wait....just saw the part about it being off now....ya sounds like it's fried.

Oh well, thanks for the advice anyways. So, is it worthless? Can I perhaps sell the parts? By the way, it doesn't really smell, probably because the urine was watered down because I had been drinking.
