Thin valuebet?
200 NL 6-handed, full stacks:
Villain in this hand is DrGiggy at Fulltilt and is something as rare as a good LAG at this level. Runs like 27/20/4. Some of you probably know him. I should probably stay out of his way but Im on the button and he raises a lot, yadayada..... On the river I put him on a one pair hand who wants a cheap showdown. A bet from me looks bluffy but he is probably on the same level as me and knows that i know and he is certainly capable of reraisebluffing. Villain raises to 8 in CO, I call with Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] OTB, blinds fold. Flop: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain bets 12, hero raises to 32, villain calls. Turn: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Check, check. River: J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Pot is 83 Villain checks, Hero?? Also who likes a bet on the turn? |

Re: Thin valuebet?
Bet the turn. In his eyes, your flop raise will mean TP/sets are a big part of your range. The turn card is perfect for you because it is the best bluff card, while the flush draw gives you added equity if he calls.
I would check behind on the river, as played. |

Re: Thin valuebet?
I check. Looks like one of those spots where better hands are calling and worse hands are folding. Then again, if you're sure of your read and want to induce a bluff by betting go ahead but you better be VERY confident in your read.

Re: Thin valuebet?
I almost always bet the turn here. That is a great card for you.
As played, bet the river. Knowing villain is capable of a bluff C/R and knowing villain often does it are two very different things. I need a darn good read here to either check behind or bet to induce a bluff. It doesn't sound like you have it. I bet/fold the river (I should double-check stacks, but meh) around $60. Also, I am not convinced that your flop raise is profitable if you can't bet either the turn or the river here. |

Re: Thin valuebet?
Flop raise is good once in a while to mix it up. He folds overcards and he rarely has anything very good. He bets any flop and often fires twice.
On the turn I really didnt like the 10 since if he had it, he would probably checkraise me off my draw. If I had no draw I would be more entitled to bet. This reasoning might be wrong off course. On the other side he might be afraid that i have a 10... Also if I dont bet the turn I can still make a stab on the river if he checks. If I bet the river as played I cant call a raise so I guess a check is fine as most of you say. |

Re: Thin valuebet?
looks like he has 99, 88 to me. I'd bet the river and hope he calls with those
