Phil Gordon Phil Gordon says that "the fourth raise is always Aces."

So, since this is the fourth raise, I guess that villain has aces. Either that, or Phil should write a different chapter title for that part of his book.

Anyway, folding KK preflop is so read dependent that it is hard to have a meaningful discussion about it on a strat forum. Your read is that this guy in this spot has aces. You should go with your read. Period.

But there just isn't much to talk about in a strat post. Either we "believe" his range is KK-AA only (and you should fold), or we don't (and you should call). But we weren't playing at the time, so our read won't be nearly as good as yours was at the time.

If I told you guys the secret to these situations I'd probably be out of work.

Sigh.

Fold! In all my hands in these situations, this is almost always AA. Of course, when you see someone do this all the time then it's not. I would fold as played.

Tight opponent with an amateurish "I have AA" min re-raise and a 5-bet pre for 125BB.... yeah, he's probably bluffing.
