Default Top pair vs. a calling station

Villain is a 52/2/.73 over 50 or so hands. Usually will call us down, however, he will sometimes fold to a sizable bet.
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

Hero (SB): $26.50
BB: $19.10
UTG: $21.35
CO: $36.15
BTN: $39.40

Preflop: Hero is dealt J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG folds, CO calls $0.25, BTN folds, <font color="red">Hero raises to $1.00</font>, BB calls $0.75, CO calls $0.75

Flop: ($3) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $2.50</font>, BB folds, CO calls $2.50

Turn: ($8) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $5.00</font>, CO calls $5.00

I think I played it decently. But I'm not really sure the best way to play the river. I had taken a similar line heads up vs. him 3 or 4 times so far and he folded on the turn every time. All input is appreciated.

This is fine. A standard play on the river would be to bet 1/2-2/3 pot on the river and fold to a raise.

You wan't to get to a showdown with this guy but checking will show weakness and he may pounce and put you in a situation where you really don't want to call a big bet from him.

I think I would lead for about 1/2 PSB and fold to a reraise.

we're b/f the river since if he raises he probably has a set? I need to write that down.

This seems bad, considering stack sizes.

Passive calling stations dont usually raise w/ hands that tpmk can beat.

Except Hero will only have like $18 behind on the river and you want him to bet 14; calling station might just think What the hell and put OP in for $4 more.

That line turns Hero's hand into a bluff; he might as well just shove the river.
