I can't tell you how many times I've sat at a 3-card poker table and people have tried to convince me that the best strategy is to NEVER fold.

While of course, the best strategy is not to sit there at all unless you hate money.

Fine, I'll bump an old thread then.

In 20-40, sitting behind about a rack's worth of chips, after calling 3 bets cold pf with KJo and not winning "I wouldn't have called that if I didn't have so many chips, that's why I hate having so many chips". He was serious.

me - i'll bet you 1000 dollars that AA will beat Q 6 on the next five card board we see.

If it's 1/2NL and I'm playing and you're not, I'll take that bet.

I chuckled, but managed to keep it under my breath. Then the megadonk on my right tried to pay for his beer with tournament chips and I just burst out laughing.

[/ QUOTE ]

Off topic a little, but I just want to state that if I hear the joke from another player asking to "cash out" his tournament chips I just may strangle him/her.

[/ QUOTE ]

I hear that like 5 times each live tourney, its ridiculous. Another terrible joke I hear is people yelling "REBUY!" in non rebuy tournaments trying to be funny.

Another funny thing that happened is when I was dealing a $2-5/2-10 spread limit Omaha hand at the showdown...

board: x-3-x-x-3 no flush possibility, decent sized pot.
SB: Shows 10-10-3-x misreads his hand and says he has a pair of tens
BB: Shows K-K-x-x declares his hand as pair of kings
Me: Announces winning hand (three of a kind)

The big blind proceeds to flip out saying that VERBAL IS BINDING and that since the SB declared his hand as a pair of tens then it should be the hand that he plays. I try to explain to him that you don't choose what hand you play. Then he goes on belligerently telling me that it is BS because eariler I told him verbal is binding when you make a bet and he says that it applies to reading your hand as well. He makes a big stink and says that me and the SB are in cahoots and that I get 50% of the SBs profit(???). I told him I would borrow him a book on Omaha Hi explaining the rules if he wanted. He was steamed the rest of the night.

2/4NL at Paris in Vegas, I raise PF with JJ, BB calls me.
flop 2 2 T rainbow, I bet pot size he calls, turn K goes check/check river A again check/check.

HE flipped quads!

When I asked why he did not raised my flop or bet any other street he said: I was waiting for you to bet and then get all your money!" LOL

An old guy at the 10/20 limit table yesterday said "I play only small cards, because I figure everyone else in the hand is playing bigger cards so smaller cards will usually appear on the flop."

I nearly spat my coffee in his face.

About 6-7 years ago at Foxwoods playing 2-4 LHE. Guy across the table says to woman next to him.

"Look at all these stupid people folding before the flip (yes, he said flip, not flop). If you want to win you have to stay for the flip."
