Default 3500$ stolen from my neteller-account

Hello, a horrible story, I hope you guys got some comments or tips for me on how to handle this:

(I'm not a native english speaker so please excuse if the grammar etc. might not be 100% correct...)

Wednesday this week when I checked my emails, I saw there was one of those transfer confirmation mails neteller sends out on a transfer. It was for 1500$. Quickly I logged into my neteller account as this seemed real to me. And there really was made a transfer of 1500$. I changed the password and called neteller. They said they will close my account and that I have to contact their investigations department about this case.

A few minutes after the call was over I received another transfer confirmation mail for 2000$ this time. (this was all the money that was left after the first transfer). Either neteller mustve been too slow on closing my account or it was processed when i was still talking to the support it seems. Well I quickly called them again and they said it was goin to the same direction as the first transfer and that my account is closed now for sure, they also gave me the transaction numbers.

For both the transactions the target was "SquareIt Poker" which is WildJack-Poker and belongs to jackpotfactory. Since I have an account over there I logged into it and checked all the transaction and play histories, but no sign of the money.

I wrote a mail with all the infos I had so far to them and also called a few times. At some point it was found out and told to me that it was not my wj-account that was used to initiate and receive the transfers, and that they could see that there were made 2 deposits like the ones I am missing.

I asked/advised them to trace the money and prevent it from beeing cashed out, also explaining how the money is usually dumped from one account to another. I was told that they know about such actions and will investigate everything, though I was told I have to contact neteller to get the money refunded.

This confuses me alot, the money is in their system, was deposited with a fake-account while only one account allowed in the terms and they say I should contact neteller about refund? First thing to do should be to get the money back from where it is right now, their system... they can easily do that I am sure.

I wrote a few more mails to them and finally received answer that I "can rest assured because everything will settle out" and that I "surely receive the money back". This sounded quite good but in the next sentence they say that they will care about the fraud group. (it sounds to me like they mean, i will surely receive my money back from neteller, and they care about the fraud group...) I wrote another two mails but havent received an answer yet.

Currently I'm still waiting on an answer from neteller investigations. Already called them but I was told I need to wait.

=====================================

How this all had happened I cannot explain. Nobody has or had access to any of my sensitive data, I run Kaspersky Anti-Vir and Firewall which update every day, use a internet router, I don't save passwords anywhere and delete all pw emails, and I certainly don't have or had any trojan or keylogger or whatever on my system. This seems really weird to me, there also haven't been any logins to my accounts, whether email, poker or neteller as it looks. (just those two deposits, but you dont have to login to do that..)

It seems I really first gotta wait for netellers response, but I don't just wanna sit and wait while there is so much money missing.

I am still so nervous and shocked that this happened. I just hope so much it will settle out good.

It's getting fairly obvious now that you should never leave money lying around in Neteller like a bank. Only use it as a conduit to immediately transfer money to another poker site, debit card or whatever.

This happened to me 2 years ago. I eventually got my most of my money back however it was a pain in the ass because the casino it was dumped to had very odd operating hours and there was a language gap as well.

Make sure ALL your gabmling account and neteller account passwords are different. That's what got me in trouble.

Hello again,

I still havent received an answer from neteller investigations department yet. Sigh what a great customer service. The chat always tells me that they cannot access the infos about the investigation and that I have to wait for a reply. Today I sent a mail directly to the investigations department asking for informations at least on how long this gonna take and if they are still investigating or just have forgotten about me. I hope I get an answer to this at least.

@monkeyfightclub: good to hear you got your money back, can you maybe tell me some more details on what you had done to get it back? Did the casino or neteller refund it?

Congrats man. I had to do it all myself. Neteller gave me the name of the casino and that's it. I had to reach out to the casino and inform them that the money was taken from me and give them a neteller reference case number (or something similar) and after a week and a half I got it back. Neteller basically didn't do anything for me.
