Re: LO8 Tournaments
fishy, but they take forever. Before the fish are belly up, you may see a lot of capping, so there aren't that many hands played in the early rounds. This increases the luck factor compared to PLO8.
In PLO8, the real fish can get all-in in a few seconds of raising. They drop like flies in the first few hands. They also take a few pros down with them. Bottom, line, I think LO8 is fishier, but a good player should have more EV in PLO8 and spend less time at it. Effen |

Re: LO8 Tournaments
The Stars Micro LO8 tournaments are a good proving ground for those wanting to test the waters with little financial commitment, but not for the impatient. Expect 5-6 hours to the final table finish. At the $5-$20 level, the numbers (time taken and payout) get much better.
The $5+1 LO8 at Party is good, but hard to beat between the structure, top heavey final table payout and crazy early play. $10+1 at UB is good, play is generally better than most on average. My experience with PLO8 is limited, but I've done well at $10 level on Absolute and similar levels at Paradise (most of the private PL08 tournaments have a link that you can pick up the password). |

Re: LO8 Tournaments
I have beaten the $10 and $20 P*s Omaha 8 MTTs
b4. If you find the right time to play them, you can usually be ITM about 15% of the time. I think I was making final tables about 1 out of every dozen tourneys. Just if you do win, don't blow your money at HIGH Limit Ring games like I did. |

Re: LO8 Tournaments
Pokerroom was a great training step for me in PLO8 tournaments, as most had under 100 entrants, only paying out final table, so it was usually worth the while. I made probably 11 of 16 FTs in fields from 50-120 at the $10s, $20s, and $30s.

Re: LO8 Tournaments
I played a 30+3 on Party, PLO8(not my specialty, the PL part)
There was definately some luck involved, but the field seemed fishy and weak & my above average cards were plenty to win it. |
