Default This looks standard but feels dirty

100NL on FTP, (no PT for a while, posting by hand).

Effective stacks are 80.

I had been semi-agressive lately, running in the range of 23/21/4 and stealing a lot of pots on the flop.

I had only been at the table for a few orbits, so I didn't have a ton of info on the villian in this hand. Our only history is I raised from the CO 2 orbits ago, and he c/f to my flop cbet after he called from the SB.

Hero is on the button with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

3 folds, Hero raises to 4, SB folds, BB calls.

Flop (8.50) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB checks, Hero bets 7, BB calls.

Turn (22.50) A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB Checks, Hero bets 18, BB raises to 55, Hero folds.

Standard?

I like checking behind on the turn. Betting gives villain way too much room to outplay us. As played, it's an easy fold.

Checking the turn does some good things for us here.

- Gets us to showdown cheap, which is fine with a marginal hand that is probably good but really can't stand any heat at all
- If he has a busted straight draw, he is likely to fire at the river since we showed weakness. He may have been trying some dumb OOP float in the first place, too.
- If the 4th spade falls, you'll have a good bluffing opportunity often.

As played it's a fold. I don't really think a turn a bet is *bad* or anything, but generally against an unknown I'll check back here.

For those who check here, whats your plan for a blank river if bet into. What about a 9?
