Default Identifying other 2p2ers

If I'm playing at any given casino for the first time, is there any "socially acceptable" manner (in 2p2 terms), to identify myself as one who frequents this forum and to meet other 2p2ers?

The reason I ask is that I don't get to play live often- maybe four or five times a year since the closest casino is about five hours drive- and I never know anyone when I get there. I'd like to meet other folks that love the game and have enough interest in it to post here.

Obviously, I don't want to sit down at a table and ask if there are any 2p2ers here. Is a casual "sup bro?" acceptable? Any other ideas?

Anyone going to be playing in Tunica next week?

Just look for the donkeys who think they play good.

what limits do you play?
AFAIK, very few players at 20/40 and below post on 2p2. You might average one for every 3 tables you sit at.
I guess it depends on your area though.

edit: it's prob hard to go wrong with a solid selection from LOL Shirtaments

I generally expect that I'm seeing a few 2+2ers in my games - they tend to play a rather distinctive style that does stand out.

I have this problem too. Plus at 51 I look fairly stupid saying "sup bro" to everyone I meet.

And I have no idea what the countersign is. Is it "sup bro" as well? Wouldn't anybody who is under 30 answer that anyway?

I typically just ask somebody who plays like they are thinking if they know 2+2. I try to do it quietly but one time a guy from across the table heard and said "2+2?, yeah I do that" fairly loud and it spawned a conversation in which more than half the table confessed to participating. And the one guy who was playing very poorly started mocking 2+2.

I was thinking the same thoughts. Namely, how silly I might appear with a "sup bro"-hello at age 52, and how I'll interpret a "not much, bro" response.

Maybe someone should start a poll for the "Official Covert 2p2 Salutation."

Or, then again, maybe Snowball's right. I'll just spring for the #95 sup bro t-shirt and hope for the best.

I'm around there most weekends. There's a couple of us who are regulars in Tunica.

Seriously, just ask. Contrary to popular opinion around here, publicly mentioning 2p2 isn't going to cause every fish who hears about it to suddenly go out and become a winning player.

actually 70% or more of most mid-limit tables probably reads 2+2. We had over 2 million unique visitors in the past 6 months, as a group we have got to come to terms with the fact that 2+2 is commonly read. "2+2'ers" are not special anymore, we are only special because we contribute to the forum often because in reality the majority of readers are not members.

I use the NY Times analogy. Everyone reads it, but not everyone subscribes.

To be candid, I hadn't considered the "fish angle." I was more concerned that a fellow 2p2er wouldn't want to be identified as such during a game. Nor would I want to talk about it, or spawn a conversation about it, during the game. I was rather looking for some innocuos means of making like-minded new friends.
