AA - How do u play yours? H.E.L.P
Ok so player seems to be running at 45/9 small sample though seems to be a bit of a calling station. What line are u taking here?? He doesn't seem like the type to bluff so I decided not to go for a C/R on the turn as didn't wanna give a cheap draw.
Poker Stars, $0.50/$1.00 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 4 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter BTN: $90.60 Hero (SB): $139.90 BB: $101.50 UTG: $27.20 Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB) UTG calls $1.00, BTN calls $1.00, Hero raises to $6, BB calls $5.00, 2 folds Flop: ($14) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $12, BB calls $12 Turn: ($38) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $32, BB calls $32 River: ($102) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Are u shuvving the river?? C/C give spades a chance to bluff? my concern is I think he has a hand like 66-KK here and he might just check it behind and i'm not folding to a shuv. Thoughts please |

Re: AA - How do u play yours? H.E.L.P
He could have a J you know.
But if you're not folding to a shove then bet $65. You didn't put his AF in your OP which may give an indication if he'd bluff a missed draw . . . |

Re: AA - How do u play yours? H.E.L.P
I typed up a whole thing saying I would c/c because that j lets a lot of hands bluff at the river, but that makes more sense against a thinking player. Against a station like this guy I bet/fold (you said you'd call so bet/call, but if he has a low AF I fold) and expect to get called by a decent amount of hands we beat. I think he checks behind with a lot of hands that we beat that would either fold or call our bet so that's no different.

Re: AA - How do u play yours? H.E.L.P
Good so far, kind of a gross spot as a J is a whole lot of his range, but I would probably bet/fold this smallish to get max value out of 55-TT. He will raise (probably minraise) with a Jack, but he's not bluffraising busted spades very often given how passive he is and given the very real possibility that you have a jack here.

If he hasn't shown much aggression over the small sample I probably just vbet since we don't even know if he'll bluff spades.

i always lose w/ aces... esp to donktards w/ 10 J off...thinking they make the nut straight w/ it
i love a good 85/15 disaster!!! |

Re: AA - How do u play yours? H.E.L.P
I would never c/c in this spot, especially against this villain. He only has like $50 behind; just shove I guess. But I'd seriously c/f before I c/c'd here (unless he made some $10 downie bet or something).

Re: AA - How do u play yours? H.E.L.P
Ah, didn't realize effective stack sizes, spot on claunchy. I'm probably just shoving. I mean, if villain has 55-TT, the jack shouldn't really scare him any more than a 2 should.
