That's great news, Percula. I see that you're a Phoenix resident. Do you hear any talk about Kyl in the poker rooms around there? I'm hoping the casino poker players in Arizona are familiar with the issue.

It is a total hit and miss. Some know and frankly dont care in the least as "all that online poker is rigged anyway, good shut'em down". Some a rather vocal in their opisition to the national bill and the WA law. Other are are like "it will never pass, dont worry about it" or the other one "don't worry about it, they can't stop me anyway".

I try to get out the word, but it is really a 50/50 shot as to rather someone gets it or cares.

given the leiberman results in connecticut i'd say the best way to beat kyl is to tie him to the war in iraq and hope that his opposition runs on that and wins ala ned lamont. those who forcast this stuff (like the cook report) seem to think this issue is enough to get the dems in control of the house and +/- 1 or 2 in the senate and therefore good for online poker players (or at least not as bad).

And if you feel like puking... Kyl ad talking about "values"

I'm glad so many people here have lent support to Pederson. Let's keep it up!

I disagree. If I were a gambling man ( ), I'd bet that Kyl wins by 10%+. I hope not, but I live in Southern AZ (a Democratic stronghold in AZ) and, from what I hear, he's in.

There's lots of other reasons to dump him (other than his gambling views), but Phoenix has most of the votes in the state, and they like him.

I can tell you right now, CP isn't going to let anyone advertise this in their magazine. Think about it. How stupid would that be? Guess who will be the next media company taken down/fined bigger than hell if Kyl wins?

Not the greatest news, obviously. However, yesterday the Cook Report updated its Senate Race Ratings and showed Kyl to be only a "lean favorite." We still have the debates and final spending blitz to go, and considering the overall public dissatisfaction with the current Congress and the Republican Party in general I wouldn't close the book on Pederson quite yet.

There was an article on the Cook Report (www.cookpolitical.com) a few months back comparing the current political climate to that of the "Republican Revolution" in 1992. In '92 the public was very sour on Democrats, and in turn many Republican congressional candidates won races in which they were not favored by the polls. Now, public opinion has swayed against the Republicans, which could signal that many Democratic candidates who are not currently favored (like Pederson) will win elections the polls suggest they should not win.

why bother giving money to Pederson?
we should pool our funds and try to find dirt on Kyl or fabricate a scandal. if we had some hooker start going to the local news saying he beat her and did a bunch of coke, it will either hurt his numbers or at very least make him go to damage control and take his focus off of internet gambling
