Default What\'s Lake Tahoe poker like?

I'm curious what's the biggest game they have there and how often does it run? I play more NL, but would be interested in limit as well

i played there 7/14 and 7/15 and enjoyed it... montbleu had 1-2 1/2NL tables going and Harvey's seemed to be busier at pretty much all times with a couple 300max 2/3NL tables and at least 1 1000max 3/5 table...

im planning on going back there over xmas break to board/play again... and may end up moving that way next summer if all goes as planned.

would love to hear more from the locals

I, too was considering a move. How often does the $1000 max game go? I'd want to play that 5 days a week.

How high is the cost of living there? How does it compare to LA, for example (MI too if you can compare that?)

Here's a post from a couple of weeks ago talking about Reno vs Tahoe poker. The last bit mainly deals with Tahoe

you guys should PM jlocdog. he used to live in lake tahoe and play the 3/5 game at harvey's regularly. the 2/3 game is fantastic (in my experience) but i've never brought enough to play in the bigger one.

Hey, I'm moving there for a few months Oct.-Jan...Is there still a lot of action during those months or is it pretty dead?

Also, any ideas on a decent place to live out there?

Pray for snow. Once the ski season starts, the place gets a lot of traffic, and can get crazy busy on weekends, but it's going to be pretty dead between Labor Day and the start of the snow season.

I've played in the 3/5 $1k max game a few times and it's been variable: a few great sessions with some real fishy tourists, but also a few sessions with mostly good players. The 2/3 $300 max games, on the other hand, are consistently good and occasionally great.

I've heard Mont Bleu spreads a 1/2 deep stack game on the weekends that can get pretty crazy, but it wasn't running when I was there. I've also been told by several dealers that on busy weekends Harveys spreads some bigger NL games (5/10NL, 10/20NL), but that's entirely player-dependent, e.g., the 3/5 is now their default "big game", but they'll happily spread a bigger game if there's sufficient interest. And they used to spread a much bigger 25/50 or 50/100 pot limit HE game on Saturday nights (aka, "the Cowboy Tom game") but I'm not sure if that goes anymore.

I'll be up there next weekend for the Tour de Tahoe, so I'm interested in seeing what off-season action is available as well.

How bout a trip report when you get back? I am going in November and am curious how the games are.
