Urinal Stagefright - Advice?
If there are other people either next to me at the urinal or talking to me especially, I often find myself just standing there, wang in hand, trying in vain to start the flowage. Nothing happens. The moment they walk out the door, the faucet runs fine.
Any tips on overcoming stagefright? |

The same thing happens to me. I usually use a stall if I feel that the situation might prevent me from getting the flow going.

Re: Urinal Stagefright - Advice?
Yesterday, I was using the urinal down the hall from my office. I drink a ton of water and tea and such and I have a healthy prostate, so I was peeing like a racehorse. Guy comes in, goes to the urinal two down from me, and after a second says "Man, you sound serious" in almost a complimentary way. It's one of the most appaling things that's ever happened to me. I finished and walked out as quickly as I could.
As for you, OP, you most likely have repressed memories of childhood sexual abuse and need to see a therapist ASAP. |

Wow Los, that guy deserves to be beaten to death. I am uncomfortable with urinal chit chat in general, but anything directed to you is bad and anything concerning the matter at hand is infinitely worse.

Re: Urinal Stagefright - Advice?
I don't know if this is good advice or not but I randomly started counting to 10- kinda slowly. The idea was to start peeing before I reached 10. I would do the counting thing everywhere though, even alone at my house. Honestly, I have no idea if that was what helped. However it's hardly a problem for me anymore and I don't do the counting thing anymore.

Re: Urinal Stagefright - Advice?
worst is at my college's football stadium the bathrooms have urinal troughs on both sides of a short wall, so you can look directly into the eye of the guy peeing across from you, very uncomfortable...
i just try to relax, breathe out and stare at the cieling |

Wait till you need to go, and stop hanging round men's toilets when you don't need to?

Re: Urinal Stagefright - Advice?
The thing is, the longer it takes to ge the initial flow going, the more awkward it is if there is someone next to you, and then it's even harder to relax because you know that the other guy knows that you can't get the flow going! Damn, I love single toilet bathrooms.

Re: Urinal Stagefright - Advice?
Distraction is key. Just think of something else. The more basic, the better.
I caution not to think about sex or porn because a different problem is likely to 'arise' |

Re: Urinal Stagefright - Advice?
I am under the belief that urinals are the devil.
While on vacation after not sleeping for ~40 hours. I followed standard procedure when I noticed a warm sensation on my leg. I had been pissing on myself for a good 5 seconds, 4.5 seconds past the "cover up with faucet water" zone. I had to balance myself by the hand dryer for quite a while before I could return to my trip. This is just another reason to enjoy the privacy and overall comfort of a single toilet stall. |
