Default Possible angleshooting...

Or maybe I'm just an idiot.

I play in an underground club.. and since I'm a live donkey I wasn't sure how to react when this happened.

I raise in MP to 20 (5-5), OTB reraises to 90, sb shoves for 200 or so more. So I tank...

I ask OTB how much he has, thinking I'd isopush if he had less than a buyin - he counts and tells me about 500. I assume he bought in for 500, and hes only been sittin for 3 hands and lost 2 pots, so i figure he's prolly down to 440 or so (his stack is in a square so I cant see aroun) - so I decide to shove to isolate.

He calls, showdown and whatnot - I lose.

Bleh not that big of a hit, I toss in 500 expecting change. Dealer tells me its 300 more...

What's my play (if any) and did I get hustled?

Default Re: Possible angleshooting...

When a player answers "about 500" and he has 800, I don't think you have any claim to angle shooting.
That said, some casinos have rules about the placement of chips, (big chips in front), if that's what happened you might be able to make a deal about it.

Regardless, I think you should just consider this an (expensive) lesson. Don't trust other players. Ask the dealer to count.
You know, trust in God but lock your car.
