Katheren Keener. Okay, I wasn't aware of her until 40 year old virgin, but I have seen her in other movies since (Into the Oblivion comes to mind) and she is very powerful on screen.

[/ QUOTE ]

She struck me in Being John Malkovich, I remember thinking 'wow, who is that?'

She has been nominated for Best Supporting Oscars twice, maybe that's the kiss of death for some as pointed out elsewhere here.

[/ QUOTE ]

She looks 30 years older than her supposed age range in 40YOV. Her face looks like a death rictus. I remember being very surprised that someone who looked like that could be a female romantic lead at all.

Really? I think her age range was supposed to be in her mid-30s to early 40s in the movie, and she seemed to look like that. Maybe not a Hollywood 30-40, but certainly a real world 30-40.

Matt Dillon. He's done very well, but I don't know why he didn't end up as big as Tom Cruise.

Jon Lovitz. He had some really popular skits on Saturday Night Live. Why didn't he get more work?

Winona Ryder. She was super cool when she was a teenager--I don't know what happened after that. Maybe she just didn't develop into a very good actress.

James Franco. This guy's career isn't exactly over, but I'd been expecting it to move faster.

I Google now that she's older than I am.

Zomg!!!11one! What a skank!! Yahhhhh my eyes!!!

Which brings up another name from the 'older than I am ladies' list:

Elizabeth Shue

(She's in the 'career death by Oscar nomination' bucket as well)

She was so good in Leaving Las Vegas. It's a shame she never made it bigger.

Excellent nominations. I am a fan of Matt Dillon. Kind of glad he didn't end up like Tom Cruise to be honest. I like his strange career. I read somewhere that he's a painter in addition to being an actor and that he lives in New York City. He just sounds really fascinating and cool to me.

I believe that Winona Ryder is a great actress. She just needs some good roles.

Well she's skinny as hell. I think certain women over the age of 35 should't be rail thin. It just doesn't look right. Look at that Teri Hatcher girl. She's starting to look a little gaunt.
