Default Why can\'t I go deep in a Razz/Stud-8 MTT?

Is there something just so different? Narrowly missed Razz FT weeks ago, moneyed like twice in my life in Stud8 mtts, don't money enough in Razz either. It beats me up because I've won a LHE MTT, have gone deep multiple times in NL, and I seem to beat up the micro stakes Razz/Stud8 cash games.

Sigh, maybe variance? BTW I play the $1-$5 mtts, .25/.50-.50/1 razz and stud8, maybe I am not adjusting to stud mtts well?

Any good basic strategy out there, or if I am consistently beating razz cash games should I let mtt variance take its toll and play them out?

BTW I don't want to sound like a douche saying I can do well in other games, I am sure most other people reading this do a lot better than me, lol. Also, if anyone here has won a razz or other stud game mtt in my buy in range would you be willing to send me a HH? tyvm.

Razz and Stud 8 are not even remotely similar games and they should be played EXTREMELY differently. Most players dont get this. All I will say is what I said above, I'm not a fan of serving up strategy on a silver platter. Research the games and then reapproach... I suggest Ray Zee's High Low Split Poker.

[/ QUOTE ] Some things you do in holdem, either type, are the opposite of things you should do in Razz. Reading the books is good, there's a short but nice razz section in the FT Guide for Trny Play, but if I were you, I'd just play a whole BUNCH of $1 trny's.
