Why not, when in this crazy situation, tell the cops that think you are the murderer that you'll take a lie detector test? Ask for truth syrum?!

Lie detector tests don't detect or exclude lies with any reliability whatsoever. In most countries this is recognised and the police don't use them.

i was under this impressions as well, basically if you fail you are screwed but if you pass all that means is that the wrong questions were asked (i.e. your not clear).
