I beat step 1 and 2 pretty easy. On to step 3 later tonight, God the play is terrible, hope it stays that way as I move up.

Hello there, MTTc...

As we consider some options for the PCA Steps, we'd like your opinions, please.

The current PCA Step system has been very popular; 33 PokerStars players have earned their way to the Caribbean via the current system.

While the system is working well, some players (here, other forums, in email, etc.) have expressed a desire for a single table Step 6, and thus we've been considering options for the PCA Steps. Here's what we're considering:

PCA Step 6: current structure, 18 players, 3 packages

PCA Step 6a: 9 players, 1 package, cash to places 2 through 7
(2nd/3rd: $1,500 / 4th/5th: $1,000 / 6th/7th: $500)

Thoughts? If the choice is between having both 6 & 6a, or having only 6, which would you choose? As always, thank you for your time.

All the best,

I would prefer 6(a) only.

I expect any players buying in directly to step six will hate it though.

But step six as it exists was turning me off enough that I thought I might step out of the steps, even though generally I like the concept a lot. So definitely 6(a) or something similar.

Sounds good, what about being able to use a Step 5 ticket to buy into a $650 qualifier?

The Steps are separate from the other qualification paths, by design. The Steps tickets are good only within the Steps system. Allowing them to be used outside of the Steps system would undermine said system. There are many, many opportunities to reach the $650 qualifiers without buying in directly.

Seemed obvious from my reply, but since I like 6(a) better, then having both 6 and 6(a) is clearly superior to having 6 only.
