I was a passenger on a motorcycle going about 110 weaving in and out of traffic on a fairly crowded road(coastal highway Ocean City, MD) while I was on acid. that was pretty sketchy and I can't really say I recommend it.

Good safety tip.

I hit 100 exactly in my mom's G30. She was bitching at me for driving in the flow of traffic when I was 17 and I told her if she didn't just let me drive then I was gonna speed up. She got quiet at about 95, but at that point I was so close I had to do it. FWIW I was only doing about 82 in a 70 originally.

My friend has camera phone video of him driving 183. Dumbest thing any of my friends has ever done. Much less taking video while driving 1 handed.

All the anti-DUI people should be all over this thread since its far more dangerous than some guy driving after drinking a beer with dinner.

I drove 100 something in a toyota camry 93 like twice. Both times I didn't even know I was going 100 till I looked at the speedometer (i have a heavy foot i guess). The second time I was chasing a friend (well actually racing him) but he had a much better car.

To the guy who asked about radar detectors, there are only two radar detectors worth buying:

Escort 8500 X50/Beltronics RX65 (it's the same detector)
Valentine One

grunch:

not the fastest I've ever driven but the scariest,

115 on a 1977 Suzuki GS750 that was falling apart.

And like 125 or so in my brother's 79 Trans Am with 2 of my friends standing up through the t-tops.

Got my first Mustang GT (85 model) when I was 18. Hit about 130 in it that first night.

Got my second GT when I was 20 (90 model). Hit 140 in it the first night. Scared me a little, quite a rush.

Had several souped up Mustangs over the years but they were all geared for acceleration, not top speed, so they usually topped out about 125 or so after modding them.

Buddy of mine just got an 08 Vette. Took me for a ride the other night down Interstate and hit 170 he said, I was too busy holding onto the seat and praying. I don't care to go fast like that with someone else at the wheel.

115, 120 maybe.. It was in a V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the speedo only went up to 100, so I don't know for sure.

I hit the electronic speed limitation on my mom's Lexus in high school, that was 112 I think (and oddly enough the speedo on that car went up to like 140). It obviously could have gone faster, it was still accelerating at a decent rate when it hit the limit.
