Default 5/10 NL at Motor City Casino. My KK runs into heat 6-ways.

I decided to break the monotony of my normal routine of 6-tabling 100nl online and headed to Motor City casino in Detroit for some 5/10 NL. Villain in this hand seems normal, a little too loose preflop, but I haven't seen him get out of line yet. I have around $1400 and villain covers. I probably have a somewhat tight image, but live people just don't pay attention.

There is a straddle to $20 and two folds, I make it $70 with KK. Villain is next and calls, 4 other people call. Live poker ftw.

Flop 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Pot $420

I bet $250, villain snap-calls with 4 people behind him to act. All the other fold.

Turn 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Pot $920.

I check, villain insta-pushes, I have $900 getting 2-1.
My thoughts: I think villain is strong here most of the time. He called the flop bet with 4 people left to act. I'm not sure if he puts me on an overpair or not, but it's likely he thinks I have one since I led into so many people. I think he could have something like A3s, and is worried about me having a flush draw, or he could have a full house, but doesn't want a scare card to come and kill his action. A second best overpair is also a possiblity, as he may read my check as weakness, or he may just think he has the best hand with something like JJ. I think if I had AA I would easily call, since this lessens the chance that he has A3. What do you guys think? Call or fold?

Live play with a straddle means pfr needs to be quite a bit bigger. I'd make it 100-120, maybe more depending on the table, and still expect to get 2 callers. I also wouldn't lead into 5 players with an overpair. As played, turn seems an easy muck to me.

If villain is holding A3, don't you think there's a good chance he raises on the flop for the same reason you have him pushing the turn? There's 4 people left to act and if I'm villain, those spades scare the poop out of me. Villain having a boat seems almost as likely as the 3.

In addition to 2nd-best overpairs, could villain's range could include a spade draw he's chosen to semi-bluff? If so, getting 2-1, I think I call here. It's pretty close, though.

have to raise way more preflop unless for some reason you always want half the table calling. live in a 5/10 game with straddles, -at least- $120, maybe more, still would get 1/2 callers. as played, i fold.

send me a pm and let me know who it was and I can offer more insight. I don't want to talk specifics about anyone on the public boards
