Re: I havent played very well here. Perhaps I can buy my way out? (50)
Ama,
It looks like hes probably going into shutdown mode here, if he calls you have outs, and he will fold a lot of better hands. Checking behind here is also an option. Hes giving you free odds to draw to beat him. Im probably gonna check here more than bet, but thats just me. Remember you can bluff a lof of flushy rivers. PS i dont really see much wrong with preflop, or really the flop |

raise pf, its much better being the aggresor!
im not sure on the flop call.. your implied odds arent too good since you'll only have a 1 card straight, i guess you have a BDFD too, and your in position, and its only 1/2 pot... i guess i prolly call too i'd check behind on the turn, i think villains most likely holdings are a small overpair or an FD/SD and i dont think he folds any of them to a bet |

[/ QUOTE ] This is true, but the problem is that to an observant player, I haven't really represented anything. If a player did this to you, would you fold? I probably wouldnt fold an overpair here, I'd just be like "lol as if you called preflop with a 5". I think that villains most likely range for me is exactly what I have, a draw. |

Re: I havent played very well here. Perhaps I can buy my way out? (50)
I would raise this hand PF depending on my table image and the table. U have to be the agressor here. I usually call this hand with 2 or 3 limpers. But with only 1 limper i'm raising in this spot a lot of the time. Obvious fold on the flop. I rarely get involved with callingstations unless i have a better drawing hand than this. Besides u are not getting the right price to call here. So it's a fold or a raise and u definitely can't push him of his hand. He will call u down no matter what. I like a raise on the flop against a TAG. Most Face cards are folding on this flop

What would be the right play?
I think you shouldn't raise the flop. He is pretty loose preflop, but raises only 10%. In the SB i think he might only raise op top 3/4% (AQs+/JJ+). So if you raise postflop you often facing a RR i think. (Especially with you raising any PP for setvalue) |

Re: I havent played very well here. Perhaps I can buy my way out? (50)
pf=meh. Gotta call flop getting 3:1. Check turn, whatever hes got, hes not folding. I'm very very rarely firing the turn against loose guys like this w/ an 8 out draw.

What would be the right play? [/ QUOTE ] If I could play this hand again, I would strongly consider folding the flop and I would definitely check behind turn and fold river. I think that on reflection my turn bet here was very unwise. The flop call is extremely marginal, particularly given that my outs are quite obvious which may mean that I dont collect on my implied odds. |
