Bet flop, why are you slow playing an Ace?
Also a raise turn is usually an indication of strength. If that's not the case in this hand UTG probably thought you looked weak so he raised you.

Looks like he was slow playing a set or maybe a 2-pair (A-9 perhaps)depending on how tight/loose he is.

I think our check on the flop throws this whole hand off. Did you check the flop intending to c/r him? Turn is fine, some say this could be Baluga, but again, your check on the flop really throws me off this hand.

I think I lead out the river for about 7 (blocking bet, anyone?) and fold to a shove.

Preflop: I would reraise about 60% of the time and just call the rest.

Flop: Lead out here. You want to do this because you are getting value from a weaker ace. Also, if you get called on the flop and raised big on the turn you know you are beat and can let your hand go.

Turn: I would call this turn raise, because of your check on the flop he isn't putting you on an ace. He will be better a hand like K9 maybe suited.

River: I would probably put out a blocking bet here. Smaller than you think he would bet. Probably around 5-6. With your check I would still call him. He doesn't think you have an ace. Most of the time I think that you will see a 9.

I think given your play on the flop he is trying to steal the pot. Rather than call the turn raise i would raise to 12$ and put him in on the river. I would put him on a set, 2 pair, A2+ and Q9+ and you are 70-30 against that range. Its time to get the money in.

I would have squeezed from the BB, raising to $5 or so. As played it is ok to check the flop if you intend to c/r.

The turn looks fine. He can have a big hand here or AK; raising the turn after checking the flop looks dangerous.

On the river c/c or block it with a 1/2 pot bet. If you block it, then you HAVE to fold to a river raise.

He's not calling a push with that range though.
