Default 2-7 TD, LL SNG: Bad play or simply standard?

I got berated for sucking out here and ko'ing the opp
but I didnt really think it was that bad. Opp seems a
reasonable/good player.

Also some general comments on the hand would be great.

Thanks.

Triple Draw 2-7 Lowball Limit ($100/$200) (Greenage's converter)

SB ($2000), Seat 1
Hero ($4580), Seat 2
UTG ($1015), Seat 3
Button ($1405), Seat 5

Button at Seat 5.
SB posts $50. Hero posts $100.

Hand: [4d 8c 2s Qc Qh]

Round 1: (1.50 SB)

<font color="green">UTG calls. </font><font color="green">SB calls. </font><font color="green">Hero checks. </font>

I could raise here I guess ?

SB takes 3. Hero discards Qc Qh. UTG takes 2.

Hand: [4d 8c 2s 5d Tc]

Round 2: (3.00 SB)

<font color="green">SB checks. </font><font color="red">Hero bets. </font><font color="red">UTG raises. </font><font color="green">SB calls. </font><font color="green">Hero calls. </font>
SB takes 2. Hero discards Tc. UTG stands pat.

If there had been a raise or someone had drawn 1 I would have checked
but since I drew a good one I was happy to take the initiative and hopefully
knock out the player after me.

Hand: [4d 8c 2s 5d Jd]

Round 3: (4.50 BB)

<font color="red">UTG bets. </font><font color="green">Hero calls. </font>
Hero discards Jd. UTG stands pat.

UTG is pat, I chase with a good draw to a smooth 8. Opp
didnt like this.

Hand: [4d 8c 2s 5d 3d]

Round 4: (6.50 BB)

<font color="red">UTG bets. </font><font color="red">Hero raises. </font><font color="red">UTG raises (all-in). </font><font color="green">Hero calls. </font>

I catch good and since I have lots of chips and can take him out
here I'm happy to invest the extra bet.

Total pot: (11.65 BB - $2330)

It depends a lot on what he will pat against me on the 2nd draw.
I would pat a 9 at this point against 1 player. If he is the same,
and he seems a sensible player, I think I have to draw. If he was
tighter and would only pat 8s I guess I am a dog.

rd 1: I like the check in a tournament. In a cash game I might raise, but it would depend on UTG's limping standards.

2: Seems normal - check/call is also possible as you're OOP but knocking out SB is good, and making him call 2 bets is probably still good for you even if you're behind.

3: I assume SB went check/fold here? standard.

4: standard.

Your opponent may pat a 9 (esp 95/96), but he'll definitely pat 876s, so you have odds (even assuming you check/call river with an 8 when you're behind/drawing dead).

Does your opponent just expect you to fold the second he goes pat? Clearly he doesnt understand the game. You shoulda raised predraw, everything else standard.
