Default Why dont girls aspire to be cocktail waitresses?

I work at a casino in Indiana. I see cocktail waitresses there pulling in 500+ dollars in a shift all the time. These girls are not even attractive. Some of them are old and fat and unpleasant to be around. But everyone still tips the [censored] out of them.

Beers at the casino cost 3.25 and almost everyone pays with a 5 dollar chip and tells them to keep the change. Mix drinks are 2.25 and they are still mostly tipped with 5 dollar chips.

I know the job isnt the best in the world, but if any average looking girl can pull down this much cash why are people not lined up across the st. for these jobs. They are hiring new people all the time.

A new unnattractive waitress they just hired had a shift from like 12 to 8 on a monday in the worst section of the casino. This section is made up of all old women who are playing penny slots and never drink. She still made over 200 dollars for the shift.

I cant even imagine how much a hot girl in a good section on a friday night would make. I think it could be as much as 700 dollars. Seems everyone is awlays looking for them and they can hand out drinks as fast as they can bring them out.

This is in nowhere, indiana. I dont even want to think about how much someone in vegas could make where drinks are free. What is a ballpark figure? 300k?

You cant even argue that they have a short shelf life in this career. Some of the ones in Indiana are easily 50+. Maybe this is true in vegas but if you can pull down this much you could retire when your over the hill.

People go to college and spend alot of money to make no where near what a cocktail waitress can pull down.

only bad side is you work weird hours and always weekends. But many high paying jobs require you work alot.

This seems crazy.

I guess strippers make alot of money too but this isnt nearly on the level of a stripper. Especially in indiana, they dont have to flirt or anything they just serve the drinks and get on with it.

I am going to tell my daughter that she should aspire to be a cocktail waitress.

money isn't everything;
you have to deal with people;
not everyone tips as you describe;
you're on your feet all day;
it's not intellectually stimulating;
the hours probably suck.
you probably have to dealth drunk people.

Maybe it's because finding a nice man to marry is an even better standard of living. So that's why they aspire to find a good man. And the best way to find a good man is to go to college and pretend to aspire in being a lawyer or doctor or whatever.

Or maybe they are simply uniformed about how much a cocktail waitress makes in a day. I knew I was until just now.
