So I've been out here for about a month now and I am amazed how this casino even survives. The poker tables are way too small and they pack you in there like sardines. The lighting is too bright IMO as well, it feels like there is a spotlight on you. They only had 3 tables running yesterday with two of them being limit and full of rocks. I searched for info on this room with no success, no wonder why [img]/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] So what's the O/U on the closing of this room?

On to the table games...
I don't play these often but my Uncle came into town and craves action so we headed to SP one night b/c it's close to my place. We arrive at the blackjack tables and realize they don't even have a BJ detector [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] which makes me think they skeezed on the tables. So my Uncle runs very bad playing $100-$200/hand and the pit boss says he can't even comp the steakhouse in the place(bad move). You would think they would try to make higher limit players happy by comping maybe $100 after a substantial loss in hopes of those players returning. It was now clear why there weren't any bigshots in the place, management has no idea what they're doing so all they can get are a few people playing 5 and $10 BJ. Are these people the stiffs who couldn't hack it on the strip or something?

Pit bosses were watching like hawks like they've never seen action like this before and it was a bit of a hassle to cash out roughly $1500 on the way out. The cashier was asking what game he was playing and then made a call to someone and yet another person in the cage had to approve the cash out while the Venetian didn't even flinch for $3000. What a scene for $1500, needless to say they lost a high stakes player(for SP) and a low stakes poker player b/c of several horrendous decisions on the part of their management.

I will say that the food was excellent though. So if you visit SP, check out the oyster bar or the buffet but absolutely stay away from anything gambling related in that place. My guess is SP goes bust soon if they don't change things up drastically.

Bottom line-SP is a dump for gambling and good for food.
