Re: 100NL Basic AK hand (poker 101)
Yeah...given what happened PF, hero needs to completely shut down postflop.

Call raise, c/f flop. Even if villain is total lagtard, pick a better spot to get your money in, like, at least when you have a pair.

Re: 100NL Basic AK hand (poker 101)
This is a lot like my hand that I posted. I guess we should have just called the small min-raise PF.

Definitely check/fold flop... he's not folding now. I'd just call his 3-bet pf.

Re: 100NL Basic AK hand (poker 101)
I don't like 4-betting more and shoving the flop. If your opponent calls your larger 4-bet, you are behind in the hand (your opponent is on something like [AA,99]||[AK]...I think AK is doubtful). And at that point, the pot will be so large, that your opponent will probably call you with any pair (and most likely, he has a pocket pair). By making a larger 4-bet and pushing on the flop, you are basically saying that you are willing to commit your stack when you are at about 40% against your opponent's distribution.
