are you planning on 3betting to 50 then folding if he makes it 150? 3betting can put us in very gross spots.

I might donk a lot of turns though.

wayyy back when I was a full ring nit (and so were you terp!) I'd take this line with AA when getting raised on flops like this and it worked really well. Generally bet/folding turn here, since he usually just calls with all his draws but raises sets.

you were 8/3 over a reliable sample and yes, i prefer this 10000x more

The absolute best is when they flat the flop 3 bet.

It's not like 3betting the flop here is committing us to the pot. I don't see why we WOULDN'T 3bet. Just because we are deep doesnt mean we have to play scared.

smart != scared

very good usage here.
typically, putting in 300bb with one pair isnt smart. but dotn worry, if you do that you sure as hell wont be playing scared.

Assume button is unknown and hero is 18/14 good reg.

So I think he is raising here with a lot more hands than just sets. I am not saying we need to get it all in on the flop or anything. I just think we need to protect our hand. That's what i meant by "scared".

he played it fine. Im raising to 48-50 and getting stacks in ASAP

[/ QUOTE ]

Umm, i'm not sure if i like getting all in 300bb deep ASAP. I 3bet to protect my hand. If he shoves over our flop 3bet, i prob fold. Getting all in is totally dependent on future streets, not on the flop.

i gotta learn to read thread titles better.lol
didnt see hero is 300bbs deep

From villians pov we raised utg and cbet a raggy flop. This doesn't really narrow our range at all.

I initially thought ugh 300bb deep no way I'm 3 betting but I think 3 betting is the right play. We need to define our hand better and charge villian if he's drawing. If we just call the raise and a diamond comes do we check/fold? Now that is weak.

If we 3 bet to 50 and villian raises again then we can think about folding. If he calls then the rest of the hand is going to be pretty horrible but we have to assume we are ahead. We can lead the turn for about 60 and still fold to a raise.

Thank you, i was just getting ready to say pretty much the exact same thing then i saw you beat me to it. We know nothing about villain here, he could be raising with absolute air and 3betting helps us figure out what his possible holdings could be, as well as starts to build a pot in which we are most likely ahead.
