AK, line on turn and river
Full Tilt Poker Game]\$0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em
Seat 1: UTG ($12.70) Seat 2: CO($96.10) Seat 3: BTN (Hero) ($47.85) Seat 4: ($133.45), is sitting out Seat 5: SB ($43.90) Seat 6: BB($48.10) *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Hero [A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] UTG folds CO folds Hero raises to $1.75 SB calls $1.50 BB calls $1.25 *** FLOP *** [Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] SB checks BB checks Hero bets $4 SB folds BB calls $4 *** TURN *** [J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] Villain checks Hero checks *** RIVER *** [Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] BB bets $6 Hero? Another (maybe) trivial hand. I've just moved up to these stakes, and trying to start out tight to get used to more dough involved. At .1/.25 I probably would have fired again on the turn (but not positive on this). On the river it looks a lot like a value bet and I don't beat anything else than a bluff there imo. Comments on all streets welcome |

Re: AK, line on turn and river
I would call the river. It may be a value bet, but he doesn't know you have an ace, and lots of players seem to expect to get called lighter on the river than they really do. (Or they just don't think about what worse hands might actually call and instead think something more like, "I have aces up. Bet!"). Plus, people love to bet when the board pairs, although this does seem to be more of a turn phenomenon than a river phenomenon.
The rest looks fine to me. |

He's in a territory where it's not really a value bet and is more of a bluff, but it's hard to know how our unknown Villain looks at it. |

Re: AK, line on turn and river
Some stats or reads would be pretty helpful but if you check behind the turn I think you're committing to calling a reasonable bet on the river unless you know he's a nit.
