Why are the NLHE FTP players scared?

I mean, i understand that they want to wait for the biggest fish so they have a huge edge blah blah, but what is the point of every heads up table having one person sat at. I mean they want to play, theres someone waiting, play. Most of the competition at this level is gonna be tricky anyway, if your just gonna sit there for hours you might aswell drop a few levels and play anything you can find.

And i only single out the NLHE players as it seems when the big PLO games are running everyone fights for a seat, whoever is playing.

Lars Luzak played PA the other week iirc, so he clearly has the minerals to play the best. I don't see any of the current people sitting out playing PA

why don't you sit at 3/6 and show 'em your game selection skills.

I think it's pretty silly to have 12 tables of 3/6 HU with 1 guy at them waiting for Tie. It's pretty obvious what's going on and might deter Tie from giving anyone future action.

potentially deterring someone from playing is a much better result than having that someone go busto to someone else.

Furthermore, the huge rich fish at these stakes know they are fish.

Guy Laliberte is aware that the games revolve around him, that he is the fish, and all the others want to play with him cause he isn't as good. Same can probably be said of this Tie fellow.

I don't think it's much of a deterrant.

meh, the guy has hundreds of Ks on FTP for a reason. he isn't just going to get upset when he sees everyone waiting for him and pull it off. he probably realizes he is outmatched and most likely doesnt care. probably gets a thrill out of making a few big bluffs and winning some big hands even if he loses money overall.
