Default Check raising dry flops when WE are the pre flop raiser????

When re raise from EP and flop a very dry board, for example q73 or j64, and expect to get floated, I think a good way to mix up our play is to check raise these boards.

It folds out better hands that opponents will peel with and also will gives us free turns in the future.

Is this a common practice amoungst you regulars?

For example:

Full Tilt Poker, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker Hand History Converter

BB: $69.40
Hero (UTG): $121.80
MP: $11.85
CO: $140.25
BTN: $226.65
SB: $52.15

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (UTG)
Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, BTN calls $4, 2 folds

Flop: ($9.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $6, Hero raises to $18, BTN folds

Results: $21.50 Pot ($1.05 Rake)
Hero mucked A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and WON $20.45 (+$10.45 NET)

I need to start doing this more; I'm fed up of cbetting/folding whiffed AK. I was going to post something similar - hopefully some people who have played a bit longer will post their thoughts.

The only problem with this line is when the in position TAG sees through it and calls. You are stuck out of position with the betting lead in a decent sized pot.

You'll definitely need to do this with some made hands and make sure people see what you do it with too, otherwise it'll be too easy to read cr as whiffed ak and betting as hitting top pair.

Its read dependent. This is spew without a read, and money with one.

no this is really bad. against a thinking opponent you are going to flip your hand up as ace high that got frustrated (honestly this is what i think when i see this unless its from a very good and tricky opponent).

You basically need to ask yourself: what am i representing by checking a 2 tone flop and then check raising? would you ever play a legitimate hand this way? have you ever seen someone else play a legitimate hand this way?

to a thinking player, you are almost always representing air here and i dont like it.

I always get looked up light when I do this..I like the move with a real hand though vs. a bet-when-checked-to player.
