pattay/AS8

do you shove against a full stack though?

what's a good way to defend top pair and to find out if i'm good against a full stack.

I agree, i probably should've have folded in this spot...but i was just starting to 8 table and got caught up in another big hand and didn't want to play a questionable pot where i only invested a small amount.

This is where i guess it helps if i know the person is a nit or not?? if he plays 10/4? 14/3,etc, then i know he's probably set mining?????

against a full stack im probably calling and re-evaluating the turn. if its a blank i think c/c works best, and its hard to say after that because we dont have cards or villain bet sizes. if this guy is setmining with like 40bb to 3bb raises, then that [censored] just happens when you flop TPTK, but against a short or half stack i think you have to push the flop, or at least call planning to push or CRAI on the turn

Here against a limping SS... he's got a middle pocket pair almost certainly, and he's buying the pot.

fold==bad
shove==good

AS:

I don't really think Capaneo is a bad player at all, have logged thousands of hands with him at 2/4 (although I haven't seen him around lately, so you could be right). He relentlessly iso's weak limpers and always strayed away from regs after a simple C-bet. That 66 hand is definitely not the norm for him.
